California Sunset - From Cabarillo National Monument and Ocean Beach in San Diego, CA (January 27, 2007)
 |
My friend Judy and I were standing along the cliffs of the edge of the Pacific Ocean at Cabarillo
National Monument yesterday evening. The sunset was comparatively unimpressive to what was expected, but we still had a very
enjoyable time. The adjacent photo of the ocean meeting the cliffs is arguably the best photo on this page! ;) |
 |
I snapped this photo at about 4:30 p.m., when a forest ranger informed
us that this portion of the park was closed for the day. So we drove a few miles north to the area known
as "Sunset Cliffs" near Ocean Beach in San Diego ... |

We arrived with the sunset begin to show off some
colors, but a thick horizontal line of clouds largely blocked out the orange shades that often come from California sunsets. |
|
Another shot with the camera focusing on the brightness of the blue sky that remained. |
 |
Near the end, some of the clouds turned very pretty pink and purple shades. |
 |
Special thanks to my friend Judy, who drove
from the Simi Valley (north of Los Angeles) to San Diego to spend the day with me.
We also enjoyed walking along the Ocean Beach Fishing Pier
and observing cacti on a front lawn too. ;) |
